Jody A. Sattler

A Norwalk resident since 2001, Jody Sattler has long been an advocate for a back-to-basics approach to public education where priorities are determined based on the needs of all students in the school district. For over 15 years, she has been a devoted advocate for the Norwalk Public Schools working on all of the PTA and Governance Councils in the schools her children have attended from preschool through high school. She has spearheaded the development of robust before- and after-school enrichment programs at Rowayton and Roton Schools. She founded the Rowayton Academy and grew enrollment to 250 children, offering over 30 subjects ranging from robotics to cooking.

Jody has been a member of the School Governance Council (SGC) for Brien McMahon High School for 2 years and co-chair for the past year. During a very challenging period for the school, she has managed the board through the disruptions caused by Covid and the unexpected leadership changes at the school. As Co-chair of the SGC, she oversaw the implementation of a series of Zoom calls to familiarize incoming 9th graders with the school and organized an in-school freshman orientation. She also worked with members to raise money and provide teacher appreciation events during the spring. She is currently in her second term as BMHS SGC co-chair.

In short, Jody is a Norwalk mom and a community builder who is passionate about this city. She is a productive member of every initiative she chooses to be involved in and she does it all with the warmth of a true Midwesterner. Jody’s wealth of experience in the corporate world, combined with her comprehensive involvement in the school system, makes her ready to tackle the challenges and celebrate the successes in store for NPS.
