Annie Allen and her family moved to Norwalk in 2015 because of its unique mix of vibrancy, diversity, culture, and coastal small-town feel inside, all inside a city. Annie and her family enjoy all parts of Norwalk, from South Norwalk’s energy to the peace in Cranbury Park and the Norwalk River Valley Trail. She is especially appreciative that she gets to live here and enjoy Bayley Beach and Calf Pasture Beach. Annie’s children play town sports, so she and her family get to spend many hours at Vet’s Park and the various sports fields around town.
As a parent whose children attend Norwalk Public Schools, Annie is deeply committed to the quality of education here, but also the growth, well being and prosperity of our town. She is passionate about the upkeep of our city’s parks and buildings, she cares about the city’s services being offered to all residents, she cares about the city’s financial stability, and making sure her neighbors from all of Norwalk have a thriving environment in which to live and grow.
Annie has been a volunteer with Person-to-Person, a leader on the School Governance Council at Rowayton Elementary School, a member of the PTA, and the former President of the Board of the Community Cooperative Nursery School. She volunteers as many hours as she can when she isn’t working full-time or chasing after her children.
Annie is an Emmy Award-winning television producer who has earned a noted reputation for collegiality, compelling and honest storytelling, and building authentic and long-lasting relationships with the sources who have trusted her with their stories. She has produced news and documentary programming for National Geographic, Showtime, A&E, Lifetime, History, and ABC News. She interviewed and field produced immersive storylines with senior government officials, politicians, military leaders - including members of Congress and former Presidents of the United States. She began her career as producer for ABC News where she was in Doha during the invasion of Iraq, she has covered national and local elections, and produced interviews with President George HW Bush, President Clinton, President George W Bush, and President Obama. She has been grateful to have covered many of the biggest news events of our time both as a breaking news producer and now as a documentary maker.
Because of her career, Annie did not declare party affiliation until recently but is now publicly a proud Democrat.
